I haven’t always felt and looked my best, like I do now. Since I became very self-conscious as a teenager, I started dieting when I was about 12 years old. I was always very focused on how I looked, others looked and I was worried about what other people thought of me. In my world, people who were thin were accepted and respected. So my 12 year old self took information on how to lose weight from beauty magazines, the internet and mainstream media.
When I finally stopped yo-yo dieting
Shortly after I got married, things changed. I got pregnant and I wanted to give our baby the best start in life. I knew my lifestyle had to change from eating highly processed foods and drinking alcohol profusely every weekend to grow a healthy child. So I started making small changes. I stopped drinking alcohol and I stopped fast food and soda. I started eating more vegetables and meat and had a good healthy pregnancy. I was motivated because everything I did, I did for our baby. I’ve done more research on healthy habits and diet. Only this time I wasn’t looking for diets to lose weight, I was looking for healthy living. And that’s what led me to the ketogenic diet and lifestyle that I fell in love with.
I realized I needed to get healthy to lose weight. I changed my mindset from looking thin to feeling good. We decided to switch to the ketogenic lifestyle with the whole family, and we’ve been doing it for years. I now feel better than ever.
Knowing what I know now, I wish I could tell my 12-year-old self that I’m not worthless, lazy, weak, or lacking in discipline. The reason I couldn’t lose weight was because I ate ingredients that the food industry made me addicted to. It’s because I was misinformed about nutrition.
Why I created the keto babe
I knew I wasn’t the only one struggling with yo-yo dieting. I have, and still see, many women struggling to lose weight and keep weight off. They struggle and suffer. And it is unnecessary suffering if you apply the basic principles of the ketogenic diet. After being on the ketogenic diet for so long myself and the transformation I was going through, I felt like I needed to help women who were stuck like I used to be. I took a certification keto coaching program to gain more knowledge about coaching, read every book I could get my hands on that could give me more knowledge and insights, and I started coaching women. Because believe it or not, keto for women is not the same for men. Because of one factor: we are not men, and that is our superpower.
Women have different hormones and they play a huge role in weight loss and should be taken into account when making lifestyle changes. I’ve seen amazing transformations. Women take back control of their health and feel more confident and energetic. I started helping these amazing women achieve their goals and I wanted to do more. That’s why I’ve put my knowledge and tools online so that more women can learn about the ketogenic lifestyle and change their lives. My mission is to build a community of powerful women who improved not only their physical health but also their mental health. Because healthy thinking starts with eating healthy and having a supportive community around you.
